I make both figurative and abstract sculptures. Some of the former tends to the moment of transition within a movement, while trying to reflect both its beginning and end. I am also influenced by Cycladic figurative art, which I find mysterious and spiritual; and contains a stillness which I find appealing. So in direct contradiction to what I have just said, sometimes I try to incorporate this stillness into my figures. Otherwise, I use the very simple shapes of the heads as a departure point for some of my abstract sculptures.
