Artists 2007 > Rebecca Howard
After completing a degree in illustration at Falmouth College of Arts, Rebecca had her first children’s book entitled ‘Flagtastic Flags’ published with Marion Boyars, London. She uses her training in illustration as a building block for her artwork as a painter. Her work is centred on colour and bold shapes. Rebecca uses her interest in architecture to explore the range of the different types of buildings found in cities. Her fascination with perspective has led her to push its limits until the viewer becomes unsure what they are looking at! Her aim to create intriguing modern landscapes is becoming central to her work as an artist. This new series of artwork is based on South Bristol where she now lives and works as an artist and illustrator. Rebecca’s work can currently be viewed at The David Simon Gallery, Lower Park Row, Bristol. She will also be showing in ‘The Spits’ London from 18th July.
