Since I made my first serious pieces at college I have worked intuitively, being drawn to a subject without knowing why, and it is through the process of exploration in making a piece that I learn what it is that fascinates me as an artist. My aim has always been to develop the properties of the materials I use rather than to gain control over the outcome of the technique. In my work I tend to use a broad range of media – from specialist textiles materials to found objects and recycled fabrics.
