The Pre-Trail Art Auction: 23rd September 2010
The Art on the Hill Auction took place in the Victoria Park pub, in Raymend Road on Thursday 23rd September.
Artists kindly donated their works, in order to raise money for the Creative Kids International charity. Mia and Sian, founders of Creative Kids, were there to tell us more about the charity that builds a cultural exchange between children and young people from Bristol and Lusaka, Zambia, South Africa.
The evening was a great success. Much money was raised, and much fun was had, whilst people bid for their favourite pieces; indeed, some light-hearted bidding wars took place during the evening, and our auctioneer and organiser of the event, Mark Blower, did well to keep track of who was bidding how much.
Thanks go to Mark, for organising the event, and Ed and all at the Victoria Park for hosting it, and to all the artists who donated their artworks for event . Also thanks to Sian and Mia for coming along to tell us about the important work they do with Creative Kids International. More information about their work can be found at www.myspace.com/creativekidsinternational.
