Welcome to Art on The Hill, back for a third year!!

Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October 2009

Art on the Hill is the Windmill Hill and Victoria Park Arts Trail, over the last two years we have dazzled visitors with our wide variety of different arts. This year we are hoping to go bigger and better to create a great community focused arts event.

    If you need a map or to book a place on a free workshop, please visit the information point at the Community Centre.

  • Free Workshops

    Come along to one of the workshops happening over the weekend at the Community Centre. All are free but some have limited places so need to be booked by visiting the Information Point:

    Saturday 12.00-2.00: Musical Junk
    Come and make musical instruments out of scrap materials with Rachel Shelley. Lets make our parade a really noisy one! All ages welcome, under 12s need to be accompanied. Prepare to get messy!

    Saturday 3.00-4.00 and 4.30-5.30: Feltmaking: Limited places: booking advisable
    Take wool, hot water and soap... what can you make? Come and find out at this feltmaking workshop with local artist Charlotte Murray. Suitable for accompanied children aged 6 and over.

    Sunday 11.00-12.00 and 12.30-1.30 Silk Batik: Limited places: booking advisable
    Come and make a beautiful silk scarf with Sarah Jessie Peyton, Textile Artist. Use hot wax resist and silk paints to create a unique piece of wearable art. For adults, and accompanied children over 8.

    Sunday 3.00-5.30 Parade Workshop
    Klare England will be running a fun workshop using willow and scrap store materials to produce decorative items for the Sunday parade. Suitable for all ages, under 12s need to be accompanied. Come and create a unique item to brighten up the parade.

    Sunday Parade: 5.30pm
    All children and adults are welcome to join the first Windmill Hill and Victoria Park parade. Meet us at the Windmill Hill Community Association hall at 5.30pm on Sunday with your instruments and parade stuff and we¹ll knock the socks off everyone with our noisy arty colourfulness!
